New Addons to try this Nov

The first time I used addons, I had just watched a video about Marvelous Designer and its incredible clothing design features. I had made clothes in Blender before, but Marvelous Designer was on a whole different level. I wanted a way to design clothes in Blender, but it seemed nearly impossible compared to how easy it looked in Marvelous Designer. So, I Googled “how to make clothes in Blender.” The top result was an addon called Simply Cloth Pro, which had just launched, and it was exactly what I needed! This got me thinking: what else did I assume was impossible in Blender but could actually be achieved with an addon?

So, I did what I usually do—I watched demo reels and trailers for Cinema 4D, Unreal, 3ds Max, Maya, and Houdini, making notes of their features and what Blender addons could replicate them. Let’s dive in and try that approach again here.

Floor Blend

unreal engine has this inbuilt feature that lets you blend object materials that are close, so that you dont have a hash cut of, this is great for roads, mountains, grass, you can do this in blender with out addons, you would need like a group node shared between different materials, that use the same object coordinates, and create a gradient mask that would blend the materials together, the problem is, an object can have more than one material, rotated differently, with different coordinates, what i mean is that it can get complicated really fast, floor blend it does it in one click, which saves you hours of stressing.

Gamepad Camera Control

Another fantastic feature of game engines is their ability to let you animate cameras directly with a gamepad, making it feel more immersive and intuitive, almost like you’re directing a scene in real-time. Now, this addon that brings this same functionality to Blender! you can connect a game controller and maneuver the camera smoothly, capturing dynamic shots with the precision and ease of gamepad controls. Whether you’re creating cinematic sequences, walkthroughs, or motion graphics, this addon gives you a hands-on approach, transforming how you interact with camera animations in Blender.

Folds Modifier

i think i saw this in cinema 4d, a real-time solution to add cloth folds to characters without heavy simulations this is really great for stylized characters where you don’t need high detailed wrinkles. It is a geometry nodes setup based on tension maps and textures, that you can draw or bake from hi-res model.

It’s a fantastic way to quickly add believable cloth detail while keeping the scene lightweight and responsive in Blender

Quad Maker

retopology is very important in creating 3d modals, especially those you plan to animate or deform in any way, Maya has a feature called quad draw, blender had nothing compare to it, then just a few days ago Mark Kingsnorth made quad maker that brings the same functionality inside blender, you just draw how you want the edge loops and rings to flow and your mesh will be remeshed for you.

Fluffy Maker

blender has the ability to create amazing fluffy far, but all that functionality is behind complicated workflows and setup, thanks to artists like blender procedural, these complicated setups are packed in to a nice addon, that is easy to use so that you can create fluffy characters in no time.

Treeshaper

when it comes to making custom looking trees, speedtree is king at this, its used in video games, movies, archviz, its the industry standard for making trees, we get to see some of its functionality inside blender thanks to the treeshaper addon, you can create magical trees in any shape, or make them spell out words, without addons something like this would be impossible, the trees have roots, leaves and are fully customizable.

Trees Library (140+ Animated Assets)

When it comes to crafting custom trees, SpeedTree is the absolute king—it’s used in games, movies, and archviz as the industry standard. But thanks to the TreeShaper addon, we get a taste of that power inside Blender! With TreeShaper, you can create magical trees in any shape you can dream up, even have them spell out words. Without an addon, pulling this off would be nearly impossible. These trees come complete with roots, leaves, and are fully customizable, giving you full control to bring your vision to life.

Physical Water Fx Deluxe

Thinking of adding water to your scene? This Physical Water addon brings the most realistic shader on the market right to Blender! It supports caustics, refractions, collisions, and more. The shader even captures everything beneath the water, creating a detailed map used for realistic reflections and refractions. You get incredibly detailed water in both Eevee and Cycles—perfect for bringing that extra level of realism to your scenes.

Expert Curve Modeling

Don’t get stuck with old modeling techniques—try something new and faster like curve modeling! This approach is amazing for hard surface modeling and product design, letting you shape smooth, curved surfaces with ease. While Blender doesn’t have this by default, this addon makes it possible, giving you a fully procedural way to model objects with complex curves more efficiently.

Omnistep

The Blender Game Engine was once a beloved feature, but it was removed when the Blender organization shifted focus to core development with Blender 2.5. Fortunately, the community brought this powerful tool back to life—a feature you may have forgotten about! And here’s the best part: you don’t have to be a game developer to make the most of it. You can use it to block out scenes, create dynamic camera movements, set up rigid body physics, and so much more.

The City Generator

It’s us versus them—small, independent artists and studios against the big established names. They’ve got huge teams, and we’ve got…ourselves. I make a car, you make the people, she makes the buildings, and together, we bring a whole city to life. That’s the spirit behind the City Generator. I can’t say when you’ll need a fully built city in Blender, with buildings, people, traffic, and everything—but when that time comes, someone’s already made the City Generator so you don’t have to. Focus on the parts of your story that matter, knowing the heavy lift of modeling an entire city is already done.

Interniq

And it doesn’t end there. Need an interior scene? Interniq has you covered with every asset you could want—chairs, sofas, utensils, curtains, you name it. All prepped and ready for render time. This is the way. You might be working solo, but somehow, you’re not alone in this. The community is here to make sure you don’t have to sweat for every pixel you render. We’re here to help, together.
